Family Reunion with Georgie

Our brave Maiya
Georgie and her old daddy
We paid a visit to our old monkey Georgie, at the animal rescue center.  We prepped the kids and told them we would not be able to hold her, and that she would not really remember us, since she has a new family now.  We were totally wrong!! To our amazement she waited until the kids had run off then she came out of her cage for a cuddle with me!  Her adopted family was obviously a little stressed out as upon her return they all gathered around her.

The animal keepers said she is the only monkey who has ever continually gone in and out of the cages as she is still small enough to squeeze through the chain link fencing.  So she came out for several visits and in the end seemed to want to come home with us as she followed us towards the car.  We started feeling a little guilty for upsetting the adoption process but just then she showed her teeth and ran back to her new family.  It was so fun to see them groom and hold her.
