Thanks

We have appreciated all your encouragement and prayers as of late. It has been a discouraging few weeks in some ways, but we are feeling much better about things here. It is hard to come to grips with death and can't help but wonder if we could have done something differently. We had some beautiful births this week, though, and are feeling encouraged.
A wise midwife friend told us that we are here exactly for those hard births....to love them and walk through the pain with them. And those pink little babies who come out kicking and crying? Well, those are the ones that could have possibly survived at home and didn't need us as bad. The easy ones are a blessing but the reason we are here is to love the hurting. So there is a blessing for us in every birth that comes through our doors. It is just a painful lesson to be learned:( May God give us the love and words to speak into the lives of the hurting, and the wisdom to respond in the emergencies that come our way.
