Resettlement area

We have been scouting out a new area for a possible new Mercy In Action clinic. When Mount Pinatubo erupted in 1991 it displaced many of the people from the local mountains, many of whom are part of a people group called the Aeta tribe. They simply in the mountains in little huts made of natural materials. They government here helped relocate many of them about 30 minutes out of Olongapo City. Now some 20 years later it has become a large community of Tagalogs and Aetas. It still remains a very poor and needy area, and we know that many women are still not receiving maternity care. The local doctors have suggested that it is one of the areas around here with the biggest need. So we are slowly falling in the love with the place as it is rural but not too rural. We will try to take some pictures to post next time we go up to visit. Pray with us that God leads and directs us to the right people.

Hello from Creston, This is very exciting news. I will be praying for direction for you and God's favour on your lives. I can't remember hearing if you are finished your exams Theresa. Should we still be praying for you on that?
God bless you for all the help and encouragement you are to my nieces. You have so much to teach them. I spent the evening with Sue Monday night. we were cooking and serving the elders/ pastors from New Life. she made beautiful apple pies. So yummy.Tomorrow she is helping cook the Hot lunch for the high school kids...about 300 kids are now attending. Soon we will be hosting a movie night Friday nights. A big commercial popcorn maker has been donated. Its exciting to be alive in Christ these days.
All the best and God bless you guys BIG. Love Jane Gray
