It is funny as I feel the need to update you guys and yet can't think of anything interesting to write about. Life feels normal after awhile and Theresa being up all night with births or going up to the hospital to help patients happens too regularly to talk about every time. For example Theresa went up to the hospital a few days ago and was able to by some medication for a little girl suffering from dengue fever. One of the other staff members here donated blood, since the child needed to have a transfusion also.
She was awake all night last night with a labor that they transported in the morning. She came home and slept for an hour and a half and went up to the hospital to visit another patient who's baby we delivered in May. The baby is apparently on antibiotics and IV with a fever, suffering from 2 convulsions already, but the doctors don't know what is wrong with the baby. So for those of you who put money into our account for emergencies, these are the cases we are able to help. Thank you so much for your investment into the lives of these Filipino families. Every little bit of money helps when they don't even have enough to feed their families in the first place, let alone take care of the medical expenses of a child in the hospital.
When all is said and done I think Theresa is doing amazing work, and I have loved watching her grow into the role of midwife. It is such a gift to be able to be here helping people in their time of need. Thanks again for all your prayers and support for us. We are excited to be able to come home this fall as it will be nearly 2 years by then. Will be fun to see everyone again. We plan to come back to this clinic for at least another year, maybe more. We just spent a lot of time in Manila submitting our missionary visa application. If all goes well, we will have a permanent 2-year visa when that is processed and approved, making our lives easier since we won't have to renew all 5, soon to be 6, visa's every 2 months!

I agree your wife is awesome! Great update, so enjoy reading your blog. It's hard to believe it will be almost 2 years by the time your home this fall! It feels like I was just sitting in Becky's living room not too long ago hearing about Theresa midwife aspirations and dreams, and then shortly after hearing your travel plans to Manila. I think of you guys all the time...especially the past 2 weeks for some reason?? God's really been reminding me to pray. Which is good because I need reminding, and I know I'm not the only one He's reminding! So know your being covered. Good night!
