Well, the title says it all!
It has been almost 40 hours since I left Jason's family behind at the Spokane airport on the way back to Jason and the older 3 girls. As I sit here watching Nasira play with children from all over the world with toys that an American Airforce dad brought for the kids to keep busy, I wanted to blog to write my thankfulness.
I am so thankful for kind hearts like our American neighbours. I was blessed to be on a Delta flight from Spokane who has completely taken care of us, feeding us and putting us up in the community center on the Airforce base. They have thought of everything to make us as comfortable as possible. When we arrived, I was promptly given diapers, asked over and over again if I had enough to eat, drink, and everything for the baby that I needed! They gave us countless blankets, pillows, and even toothbrushes and toothpaste:)
I am waiting to hear what the plan is next.
As we were on our flight into Tokyo airport, I noticed that we seemed to be early, but going around and around in circles.
We were informed that there was a large earthquake in Japan and that the airport was currently closed. We had enough fuel to circle around and wait to hear what we needed to do.
We landed an hour or so later at the Airforce base about 90 miles away from the Tokyo airport, and spent the next 5 hours or so on the airplane waiting to hear what was next.
Quite frankly, I don't think that the Japanese knew what to do with us, since we were one of many planes that needed to land with many different passports on board!
We finally got to deplane and get on busses to get to the community center.
As I watch the news here, I am saddened with the news that there were so many lives lost to the tsunami that happened after the quake. May the Lord give these devastated people grace and comfort to get through these times.
But, I am excited to get back to my beloved family....it has been so super long!!!!! I can't wait, but must...............It will be an amazing reunion, when it finally happens. Right now, though, Jason is getting some down time, alone time, as he waits for us:)
I am also feeling very blessed to be finally finished the first leg of my midwifery schooling....After hearing that I passed my exam, a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders....as you notice I am sure, I am finally allowing my self to write on the blog.
I am feeling blessed, so blessed in fact, for EVERYONE who prayed for me while I was studying and taking the exam. God knew what I needed and gave me the brains and confidence to get through the 8 hour exam without too much stress and difficulty.
Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you to everyone who has been a part of this journey so far.
